By 1930  , H W Aitken & Co Ltd of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, was established as a supplier of sugar machinery. The company also supplied distillery apparatus, rice machines, railway plant and provided machinery for the engineering and shipbuilding industry. The engineering firm of A F Craig & Co Ltd , Paisley, acquired the company in 1930  , having previously had a financial interest in the company. The firm continued to produce goods into the 1940s after which H W Aitken & Co Ltd was retained as a non-trading company. The company still existed in 1974, but is likely to have been dissolved in 1982  at the same time as A F Craig & Co Ltd.
