Administrative / Biographical History

This collection comprises the records of Thomas Hart, Charles and Elizabeth Douglas, who are all graduates of the University of Glasgow.

Thomas Hart graduated from the University of Glasgow in June 1923 with a Master of Arts, and studied Latin and English. Elizabeth Douglas graduated from the University with a Master of Arts in June 1916, and also received a First Class certificate of merit in Intermediate English Literature between 1915-1916. Thomas and Elizabeth married on 3 Aug 1933 at Stevenson Memorial Church, Glasgow, and both went on to pursue a career in teaching.

Charles Douglas, Elizabeth's father, also graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Master of Arts degree in April 1893. Charles was born in March 1866, and according to the Addison Roll of Graduates Charles worked as a Teacher in Overnewton Public School in Glasgow, and as a Mathematical Assistant in the technical College of Anderson's College Medical School.
