A selection of small sketches, all from the late 19th to mid 20th century, some of which resemble Templeton's Medallion range in style or feature floral, damask or chintz designs, though there are also a few sketches which bare similarities to Persian designs and a small number with Art Nouveau styling. There are designs by, amongst others, Frederick J. Mayers and Libert and there a few designs which are the property of manufacturers such as John Lyle & Co. and W. J. Sloane of New York. Most, though not all, are mounted on hard board and some designs are in the form of promotional boards, so, using the design number, can be cross-referenced with STOD/201/1/1 'Catalogues'.
