Administrative / Biographical History

Andrew McQueen was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on 11 April 1868  and was an enthusiast for the steamships of the Clyde. He wrote and lectured on this subject as well taking photographs of ships. He published two books, Clyde River Steamers Of The Last Fifty Years , in 1923  , and Echoes of Old Paddle Wheels , in 1924  . He was also a founder member of the Clyde River Steamer Club , which had its inaugural meeting on the 4 June 1932  and was still operating in 2000. He died in June 1933  .
