Scope and Content

DCA/29 relates to radio and television broadcasts. However the small number of surviving files are insufficient to demonstrate the scope and ambition of its broadcast agenda. The five surviving files are parts of DCA/29/1323.3 relating to Paul Reilly"s membership of television company Associated Rediffusion"s Educational Advisory Council between the years 1957 and 1970. As such the insights they offer into the Council"s media programme are limited.

Administrative / Biographical History

In furtherance of its educational remit, the Council sought from the outset to develop its engagement with various forms of media.

Arrangement

The surviving files have been retained in their original numeric order as allocated by the Council"s Registry. This means that records in a series do not necessarily have consecutive file numbers, and may not be located together.

Archivist's Note

Record created by Lesley Whitworth, with minor amendments by Sue Breakell, August 2010.

Related Material

Material exists across a wide range of other series and elsewhere in the collection that would assist in the making of a fuller assessment of this field of activity. For example, texts of a large number of Gordon Russell"s talks are held, some of which were broadcasts.
