Manual encoding

These guidelines are intended for users who wish to create their descriptions in an XML or text editing program, rather than using the EAD Editor. Users of the EAD Editor will find that much of this encoding is done for them, and a right-click menu is included as part of the Editor, to eliminate the need for manual encoding.
