Clive Sullivan, who was signed by Hull in 1961, became the first black captain of a major British sports team in 1972 and led the British side to victory in that year's World Cup final. The World Cup was first held in 1954 in France. The next tournament will be in Britain in 2013 when 14 countries will compete.
