There were a number of series of posters such as Outposts of Britain and Outposts of Empire that sought to educate the public about what the General Post Office did and how diverse its services were. By doing this the hope was people would better appreciate the organisation and be proud of it as a British institution. The posters also highlight the different methods used to deliver mail and the images on the posters illustrated these. Many of the designs were innovative for example, blending photographs with typography and graphics. The thumbnails below are links to larger images and more information.

The exhibition runs from 7th October - 4th November 2009 in the Well Gallery, London College of Communication, Elephant and Castle.
