Hoopla
The civic opening of a fair is an important event, and allows showmen to maintain good relationships with town councils and the media. Many fairs will operate a 'free afternoon' for community groups, or make generous donations to local charities. The 'hoopla' game shown here has been on the fairground for over 100 years.
