Ethel Mairet stole

Hand woven stole or wrap with fringed ends, from the Ditchling workshop of Ethel Mairet, 1940s. Plain weave. Blue, black, white, pink and brown cotton, continuous filament rayon and eri silk. Cotton warp of 19 ends black and 1 end blue. Spaced reeding. Weft consists of picks of blue (indigo) and deep pink (cochinela) eri silk and brown cotton.
