Administrative / Biographical History

Sir George Paish 1867-1957.

Sir George Paish was secretary to the editor of "Statist" 1881 - 1888, subeditor, 1888 - 1894, assistant editor 1894 - 1900 and joint editor 1900 -1916. He was also a member of the Departmental Committee of the Board ofTrade on Railway Accounts and Statistics, 1906 - 1908, and Advisor to theChancellor of the Exchequer and the British Treasury on Financial andEconomic questions, 1914 - 1916. In addition he was a member of the OfficialMission to the American government, November 1914, and Chairman of the SoundCurrency Association and Deputy Chairman of the Anglo-Austrian EconomicUnion.
