Draft of a letter to Frederick Bowyer from Millie Howes, regarding a paragraph in The Referee, July 1894, suggesting that The Devil Bird had been written by Mr Bowyer for Lottie Collins. Howes says that since she knew this to be untrue, she did not bother him with the matter, but subsequently having found out that Lottie Collins had bought the sketch from him and has performed it in America, she is asking for an explanation "as I cannot possibly allow such statements to be made public without protests on my part".
