The tuberculosis registers record date of notification, name of person notifying, the patient's name, their address, sex, age, marital status, occupation and a remarks section, which was often used to record the death date of the patient.

Administrative / Biographical History

The  Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley appears to have been established in 1788. In 1900 the hospital was rebuilt on a new site before joining the NHS when it was formed in 1948. In 1986, a new building was again opened on a new site in Paisley.
