Scope and Content

Inventory of the goods of William Tyndall, Merchant, MP and Sheriff of Bristol, died 1558. Inventory taken January 1, 1558. Divided into 22 separate sections, the first 21 being location inventories, apparel, plate, and items held in separate dwellings, and the final section being debts owed to William Tyndall.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Tyndall (d. 1558) was a merchant of Bristol, served as a Sheriff from 1547 until 1558, and was voted in as Member of Parliament for the city in the year of his death. This is an inventory taken of his possessions and assets prior to the reading of his will.
