Two typed transcripts of letters sent by David Kidd from the S. S. Juliana to his sister Margaret, 1818-1819 and a letter from Mrs D. M. Bassett to the University Archivist, 1993.

Administrative / Biographical History

David Kidd was the captain of the ship the ‘Juliana’ during the early 1800’s. His family lived in Queen Street, Dundee, and his sister, Margaret married Thomas Smith, an early breeder of Aberdeen Angus cattle.
