Diaries of William Williams of Trefdraeth

Scope and Content

Comprises two diaries, 1848 - 1851, containing entries relating to prices of commodities, visits to market, wages of servants, establishment of a school at Aberffraw, and railways etc. in Anglesey.

Administrative / Biographical History

The identity of the author of these diaries is not certain but according to their original cataloguer at the University of Wales, Bangor, it was probably William Williams of Trefdraeth, Anglesey, fl. 1848 - 1851, a draper, farmer and general dealer. No further biographical information is available at the time of compilation.

Material is arranged in chronological order and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
