Scope and Content

The compilation was made in the 18th century. It includes a critical marginal note referring to Sir Richard St George in part I, p.108, and sundry other notes in English referring to subsequent tenure of parcels of land, ibid., pp.422, 423 and 459. Part II comprises indices of places and persons.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sir Richard St George, herald, was Norroy King-of-Arms, 1603, and Clarenceux King-of-Arms, 1623; he was knighted in 1616. He was commissioned with Sir John Borough to institute visitations throughout England.
