Administrative / Biographical History
St. George's Hospital, at Hyde Park Corner in London, was founded in 1733 and formal registration of student doctors began in 1751. John Hunter, sometimes described as the father of modern surgery, was a surgeon pupil there in 1754, and was then elected as a surgeon at St. George's in 1768
