Administrative / Biographical History
Alfred Chaston Chapman (1869-1932) was educated at Leeds Grammar School and University College, London. He was President of the Society of Public Analysts, 1914-1916, President of the Institute of Brewing, 1911-1913, and President of the Institute of Chemistry, 1921-1924. His collection of books on the history of brewing was donated to the University of Leeds.
