Administrative / Biographical History

Lewis Euron Roberts (d. 1977) enlisted with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in Oct. 1914, saw service at the Somme, and was wounded at Arras, 17 June 1917. As Lieutenant, 17th Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment, he served with the North Russian Expeditionary Force from Oct. 1918 and was held POW (Prisoner of War) by the Bolsheviks in Moscow after a White Army mutiny at Archangel, 20 July 1919-30 Mar. 1920. He returned to England via Finland on the SS Dongola on 19 Apr. 1920 and was demobilized in Aug. 1920. He was later ordained.
