Administrative / Biographical History
Charles Hetherington Ward (1875-1958) was born at Sunderland. A Captain, Merchant Navy, he served on SS Cordova and was held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Schweidnitz after his ship was sunk whilst in convoy in Dec. 1917.
