W. Sutherland, a Sergeant, 2nd/1st Highland Field Ambulance, RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps), served on the Western Front and was held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Denain in 1918. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
