Administrative / Biographical History

Laurence (Rory) Moore (1898-1989) was born in Leeds and educated at the Northern Institute, Leeds. As a Trooper, East Riding Imperial Yeomanry, and Signal Corporal, Imperial Camel Corps, he served in Egypt/Palestine, 1916-1919. He was awarded the M.B.E. in 1952 and was also the Editor of the Imperial Camel Corps Old Boys' news-letter "Barrack".

Much of the material was placed in the Collection by Laurence Moore, and further material was deposited in the Collection in 1989 from the estate of Laurence Moore.
