Scope and Content

Description of a girl leaving for boarding school (probably Thomson's sister Elizabeth) sorrowfully taking leave of her pet cat, imagining the cat's own lament at the separation. The poem, one of Thomson's juvenilia (1716?), was written out ca.1725 for Lord George Graham.
