Scope and Content

The Black Sash material includes reports from the Athlone Advice Office (1962/63 and 1974/75), the Johannesburg Advice Office (Aug/Oct 1975 and Feb/Apr 1976), and the Natal Midlands Region (October 1973 - June 1975); Black Sash memoranda on Pass Laws and Influx control (January 1971 and February 1974) and Bantu Laws Amendment Act (1963); recruitment leaflets; report on social conditions in Pietermaritzburg in 1974. The NUSAS material relates to the University of Cape Town SRC wages commission 1973, the Schlebusch Commission 1973 and the University of Natal (Durban) wages commission of 1973. Among other items are four issues (1975-76) of the Civil Rights League (Cape Town) Newsletter.
