Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan (1842-1900) was a composer. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
The light of the world is an oratorio for soloists, chorus and orchestra with words selected from the Bible by the composer. It was first performed at the Birmingham Musical Festival, 27 Aug. 1873, and was conducted by the composer. The vocal score was published in 1873.
