The archive has two principle elements. One is a collection of 96 woodblocks engraved by John Farleigh, the other is a large number of developmentalprints taken form those blocks and others. There are also a number of draftsof articles and lectures by Farleigh and a series of press cuttings, particularlynotices of exhibitions of Farleigh’s work.
Research potential
The archive could inform the study of British art from the mid 1920s tothe mid 1960s, with particular emphasis on wood engraving and book illustration.
