University of Dundee Archive, Records Management and Museum Services: An Associate Department of the Department of History

The Archives was established in 1976 to collect the records of the University and records of local businesses, particularly records of the local textile industry, religious and medical records and other records relating to Dundee and Tayside.

We hold what is probably the best collection of textile records in Britain, largely consisting of records of jute, linen and flax spinners, and manufacturers and merchants in and around Dundee and in India. We also hold the records of the University of Dundee and its predecessors, the Scottish Episcopal Diocese of Brechin, the records of NHS Tayside and its hospitals, the Michael Peto Photographic Collection, the records of the Glasite Church in Britain, and records of other local business, organisations, individuals and families.

Special features: Railway history: 200 years of the steam locomotive, The Great War, Dig for Victory!, Pick 'N' Mix, 60 years of faith and conflict.
